Is Your Body Trying to Tell You Something?

Hey there Reader,

Do You Listen to What Your Body is Telling You?

This past week’s live workshop on somatic awareness offered such meaningful impact and connection. Whether you were able to attend or not, I want to share the essence of what we explored—because it’s work that can benefit everyone.

The core message? Your body is always communicating with you. The question is: are you listening?

Somatic awareness simply means becoming more attuned to the signals your body gives you—those subtle (or not-so-subtle) cues that let you know when something isn’t quite right. It’s about learning how your body holds stress, trauma, and even joy—and then, gently, learning how to respond.

Two Stories That Illustrate the Power of This Work

One powerful example I shared in the workshop came from my past in victim services. I worked with someone who had experienced immense trauma, but suppressed the emotional overwhelm. Within hours, it erupted physically—proof of how our bodies store what we can’t process mentally or emotionally.

A more personal story: I remember the deep wave of sadness that washed over me one day as I thought about Murphy, my sweet dog who had passed. The timing felt “wrong” to feel that grief, so I tucked it away. But I knew I had to return to it—to feel it fully—when the moment was right. If we avoid doing that, the cost is high. Emotional suppression over time doesn’t protect us; it burdens us.

These stories might sound familiar in your own life. That’s why practices that help you return to your body, ground yourself, and gently release emotion are so important. Whether it’s EFT/tapping, movement, feeling the emotion over thinking about it, meditation, mindful breathing, petting your fur baby or simply being in nature—these are not indulgences. They’re essential.

Why It Matters Now

We tend to think stress will just pass on its own. But without attention, it often settles in—creating fatigue, fogginess, or even long-term health issues. This summer, I’m inviting you to make space for tuning in. Ask: What does my body feel like in the morning? What foods truly energize me? When I’m tired, do I listen—or override it?

I’ve noticed this myself in my sleep habits. Even when my body is begging for rest, my mind pushes me to stay up. That disconnect is where deeper healing can begin—when I pause, feel what’s beneath it, and give myself the care I truly need. You might see this in your own patterns, whether it’s sleep, food, relationships, or your inner emotional landscape.

The Quiet Power of Intuition

Another piece of this work that we touched on—but deserves more space—is intuition. That subtle, inner sense that often knows before the mind does. It’s the tug in your chest, the flutter in your gut, the whisper that says “this isn’t right” or “go this way.”

Many of us have been taught to ignore that voice—especially if it doesn’t seem logical or convenient. But over time, turning away from your intuition can disconnect you from yourself entirely. The result? Confusion, indecision, and an ongoing sense that something is off.

Intuition lives in the body. When we practice somatic awareness, we also strengthen our connection to that deep inner knowing. And it’s not mystic mumbo jumbo—it’s wisdom.

The more we listen, the more we learn to trust ourselves. The more we ignore, the more discomfort, stress, and even illness can take hold.

You deserve to trust yourself. And you can start rebuilding that trust with simple practices that bring you back into your body—and back to your own truth.

Three Points to Ponder

  1. What is your body trying to tell you today that your mind keeps overriding?
  2. When was the last time you allowed yourself to fully feel something instead of pushing it away?
  3. Which small, healthy practices bring you back to yourself—and how can you build more of them into your daily life?

Let’s Take This Further

This is the heart of what I help people do—gently move from stuckness into possibility by listening to what their body is asking for and create their next chapter~clear, confident and aligned.

If this speaks to you and you’re ready to explore more deeply, I’m offering a 90-minute Your Clarity Connection—a focused, one-on-one experience to uncover the root of your resistance, reconnect with your body’s wisdom, and begin creating a sustainable path forward.

If you keep hitting the same wall, this session could be the turning point.

You don’t have to keep struggling alone. Let’s find your way forward—together. Book a complimentary call to see if this is a good fit for you.

With care,
